Akron RubberDucks News Release
The Akron RubberDucks scored six runs in the second inning and added three in the seventh to earn a 9-4 win and four-game series sweep of the Hartford Yard Goats at Dunkin' Donuts Park on Sunday afternoon. The RubberDucks swept a four-game series for the first time this season and have matched a season long with four straight wins.
Turning Point
Trailing 1-0 entering the second inning, the RubberDucks rallied against Hartford left-hander Jack Wynkoop (6-13). Right fielder Trenton Brooks hit a leadoff double down the right-field line, second baseman Andruw Monasterio singled to center field, and left fielder Mitch Longo hit a game-tying RBI single to center field. After a one-out walk to catcher Gianpaul Gonzalez, designated hitter Jose Medina hit a go-ahead RBI single to right field for his first Eastern League RBI. Shortstop Ernie Clement hit a sacrifice fly, third baseman Nolan Jones hit a two-run double to left-center field, and center fielder Alex Call hit an RBI single for a 6-1 lead. It was the second straight Akron batted around in an inning.
Mound Presence
RubberDucks right-hander Eli Morgan allowed single runs in each of the first three innings, arising from two hits and two walks in the first inning, a walk and error in the second inning, and two hits and a walk in the third inning. Left-hander Ben Krauth (1-2) retired six straight batters before a sixth-inning leadoff home run to first baseman Luis Castro. Right-hander Robert Broom got a strikeout to strand the bases loaded, and left-hander Anthony Gose and right-hander Henry Martinez each pitched a scoreless inning. Wynkoop completed six innings for the Yard Goats.

With a 6-4 lead entering the seventh inning, the RubberDucks faced Hartford right-hander Justin Lawrence, who walked Clement and Jones.
