It All Starts Here: Tonight's game marked the club's ninth annual intra-squad contest. The yearly event marked the end of training camp and saw the remaining players compete against each other. This is the third time in the nine games, and second consecutive year, that Team Blue has defeated Team White.
From Far and Wide: Out of the 38 players who competed in the intra-squad game BC produced the most skaters in the contest with 16, while Alberta had the second-most at 11. Saskatchewan was represented by seven players and Manitoba by one. There were two American players, one from California and one from Colorado. Victoria's newly added Keanu Derungs was the only import player in the game, as he hails from Ilanz, Switzerland.
Dotted Line: The Intra-Squad game featured eight newly signed players. Victoria locked up forwards Keanu Derungs, Brayden Schuurman, Tanner Scott, Carter Dereniwsky, and Carter Briltz, along with defencemen Kalem Parker, Gannon Laroque, and Braden Smith. Parker (32nd overall), Dereniwsky (39th overall) Scott (48th overall), Schuurman (69th overall) and Briltz (102nd overall) were all selected in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft this spring. Derungs was picked 28th overall in the 2019 CHL Import Draft, while Laroque was listed in the summer of 2018, and Smith was drafted in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft (117th overall).
