WHL Debut: In tonight's contest, Royals' rookie goaltender Keegan Maddocks (2003) made his WHL debut. The native of Langley, BC was drafted by the Royals in the eighth round, 165th overall, at the WHL Bantam Draft this past May.
Hey Friend: A pair of Belarusian forwards, in the Royals' Igor Martynov and the Cougars' Vladislav Mikhalchuk, faced off against each other in tonight's game. The two were teammates on two sperate teams in the Belarus2 league, as well as on the national stage for Belarus. The duo played together for Dinamo-Raubichi in the 2015-16 season, as well as for the Belarus Under-18 and World Junior (Under-20) squads throughout parts of the 2016-17 campaign.
Five Alive: Following tonight's contest, the Royals have now won five straight games against Prince George that dates back to last season. In those five games, Victoria has scored 26 goals and have gone 8/22=36.4% on the powerplay.
Heating Up: Forwards Dante Hannoun and Igor Martynov each scored two goals for the Royals in tonight's match-up against Prince George. This is the first time this season that the Royals have had two multi-goal scorers in one game.
