
Royals Take Weekend Series over Giants

Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals tallied three consecutive markers to defeat the Vancouver Giants 3-2 on Sunday night and sweep the three-game weekend series.
Royals' forward Jared Dmytriw recorded his third goal in two nights mid-way through the second period to tie the game 1-1. Dante Hannoun supplied the Royals with their first lead of the night when he scored only 39 seconds later. Vladimir Bobylev registered the game-winner early in the third period when he beat Giants' netminder Ryan Kubic with a shot that trickled just past the goal-line.
Vancouver's tallies were scored by Johnny Wesley in the opening stanza, and Bartek Bison in the final frame.
Both Matthew Phillips and Bobylev extended their point-streaks in the contest. Phillips, who assisted on the club's third marker, has now earned 11 points (4g-7a) in his previous six games. Bobylev meanwhile, has collected seven points (3g-4a) in his last four matches.
Victoria netminder Dylan Myskiw made 25 saves on the 26 shots he faced. Vancouver goalie Kubic stopped 35 of the 38 pucks fired his way.
The Royals posted a mark of 2/728.6% on the man-advantage, while the Giants went 0/30.0%. Victoria will conclude their homestand next weekend with a pair of matches against the Spokane Chiefs on Friday, March 3rd and Saturday, March 4th. The Royals haven't faced the Chiefs on home ice since Round 1 of the 2016 WHL Playoffs.
