Kansas City Royals left-hander John Bale, currently on the 15-day Major League disabled list as he recovers from thyroid surgery, will rehab with the Naturals this week on their road trip to Springfield.

Bale joins the Naturals from extended spring training and will be active for tonight's game against the Cardinals at Hammons Field.

A 34-year old left-hander from Tampa, FL, Bale signed with the Royals prior to the 2007 season after spending three seasons pitching for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp in Japan. He began last season in Kansas City's starting rotation but landed on the disabled list with a shoulder injury. In July of last season, Bale pitched in two games on rehab for the Naturals, allowing a run in 1 2/3 innings over two appearances. In 66 major league appearances (12 starts), Bale has a 3-6 record and a 4.46 ERA.

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are the Double-A Texas League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals and play at state-of-the-art Arvest Ballpark, located in Springdale. The Naturals have a toll-free ticket hotline (1-877-444-2637) for fans to purchase Naturals tickets.
