Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
SURPRISE, AZ - Fortunately, there are no ties in the regular season. The Omaha Royals Spring Training record resembles that of an NHL team, after a 6-6 tie with the Oklahoma RedHawks on Tuesday left the Royals with a 3-3-3 mark.
Omaha right fielder Noah Hall, who had doubled in his previous at-bat, smacked a home run to lead off the bottom of the ninth to tie the Cactus League contest.
Royals left fielder Billy Butler and center fielder Adam Greenberg each had a pair of hits, with Butler scoring a run and Greenberg knocking one in. Third baseman Justin Gemoll added two hits and scored a run.
Right-hander Dewon Brazelton was sharp in his starting assignment, allowing just two runs in six innings of work.
Omaha faces Oklahoma again on Wednesday at the Spring Training complex the two clubs share in Surprise.
The Royals open their 2007 Pacific Coast League season on Thursday, April 5th at Albuquerque, with the home opener at Rosenblatt Stadium slated for Friday, April 13th at 7:05 p.m., also vs. the Isotopes.
