January 13, 2022 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Victoria Royals News Release
Victoria, BC - The WHL announced today that the Victoria Royals have been cleared to resume team operations and can continue with the regular season, starting with back-to-back games against the Kelowna Rockets this weekend.
On Friday, Victoria begins its four-game road trip in Kelowna with a weekend series against the Rockets and will then continue to Prince George for two weeknight games against the Cougars on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Next weekend, the Royals are back on home ice for the first time in 2022 when they face the Vancouver Giants on Friday, January 21st for Bell Let's Talk Night. Friday's game, in partnership with Bell supports the annual "Bell Let's Talk' campaign designed to break the stigma surrounding mental illness and to support mental health across Canada.
Saturday, the Royals face the Everett Silvertips and are bringing the summer vibes back to the SOFMC with the Halfway to Summer Jam presented by Molson. During this festival-like theme night, fans are encouraged to dress up in their favourite summer outfits to collect special wristbands around the arena. Fans can also take advantage of the Molson drink special on Saturday, with Molson Coors Original cans available for $6 in all outlets throughout the building.
Participating in the Halfway to Summer Jam with the Royals next week are Rise Together and 1000x5. Rise Together connects with local organizations doing vital work for the community and offers their support to help reach organizational goals. 1000x5 is a children's literacy recycling project dedicated to early literacy development. By donating a used book or by making a charitable donation, attendees can collect the "Marty VIP" wristband to add to their collection.
