
Royals Renew Player Development Contracts with Three Affiliates

KANSAS CITY, MO (September 7, 2010) - The Kansas City Royals announced today that the club has extended their Player Development Contracts (PDC) with three minor league affiliates.
The Royals extended Class A Advanced Wilmington of the Carolina League, Idaho Falls of the rookie-level Pioneer League, and Burlington (NC) of the rookie-level Appalachian League for two seasons through the 2012 campaign.
The Royals' Double-A club, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, are currently in the second season of a four-year pact through 2012.
The Royals previously announced an extension on September 1 with Triple-A Omaha, an affiliate from the franchises' inception in 1969, for four years through 2014. Omaha will move into a new ballpark in Sarpy County (Neb.) in April of 2011.
