Estero, FL- The Reading Royals of the ECHL (3-0-0), affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, defeated the Florida Everblades (0-3-0), 2-1, in Game Three of their American Conference Semi-Final Series at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida. The Royals scored the game's first goal for the seventh time in eight playoff games played; but it took a late game winner from Ryan Cruthers to pull out the victory. The win gives the Royals a three-games-to-none lead in the series with Game Four in the best-of-seven series to be held at Germain Arena on Tuesday (April 20). The Royals' Matt Dalton (6-0-2, 36/37) was nothing short of spectacular-particularly in a pressure-packed third period thrust from the Everblades. Chris Beckford-Tseu (3-4-0) was equally good, rejecting a number of prime scoring chances for the Royals in athletic and acrobatic fashion. For the second consecutive game, the Royals' power play was held off the board (0-3). But for the first time in the series, the Royals blanked Florida's power play, as well (0-3).

Reading struck first 13:57 into the game, when Marc Cavosie forced his way to the high slot and was able to battle through a check and get off a snap shot that beat Beckford-Tseu to the glove side for his fifth of the playoff season. After that-and really before that, too-the goaltenders took over, trading jaw-dropping stops at either end of the ice before the Everblades finally broke through at 13:51 mark of the third period when Dominic Osman fired a cross-ice pass from deep left corner to the top of the crease, where a charging Kevin Baker re-directed the puck behind Dalton for his first of the playoff season. The Royals re-grouped and got what proved to be the game winner with 2:53 remaining in regulation when Greg Scott forced his way to a spot on the right half wall in the offensive end and slipped a pass towards the left side of the Florida net, where a crashing Cruthers got a chunk of the puck redirecting it home-to become the sixth different Royal in six playoff games won this season to bag the game winner.

The Royals and Everblades return to Germain Arena in Estero, Florida, for Game Four of their best-of-seven American Conference Semi-Final Series on Tuesday (April 20 @ 7:30 pm). The Royals game night broadcast on the Royals Radio Network presented by Transmissions by Arbogast will begin at 7:00 pm.
