Burlington, N.C. - The Royals didn't need more hits than the Twins to win 5-1 in game one of a three-game series.

Jay Charleston got the scoring started early for Burlington, leading off the bottom of the first with his first professional home run. Will Hancock and Mikey Filia tallied RBI singles before the inning ended so the Royals held a 3-0 edge after the first.

In the top of the third, Trevor Jensen scored Elizabethton's only run with a solo shot to left. His first career home run cut the deficit to 3-1.

However, Burlington added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth when both Filia and Burle Dixon drew walks with the bases loaded, extending the lead to 5-1.

Royals righty Noah Murdock earned his third win of the season with three scoreless innings of relief. Twins righty Tyler Benninghoff took the loss and now owns a record of 2-3.

The two teams meet again tomorrow at Burlington Athletic Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
