Royals Present Guns and Hoses Weekend

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals, 103.1 Jack FM and Ocean 98.5 FM are proud to present the inaugural "Guns and Hoses" weekend beginning on Friday, March 8th when the Royals host the Vancouver Giants at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Friday's game marks Police Officer Appreciation Night while the Portland Winterhawks visit Victoria on Sunday, March 10th for Firefighter Appreciation Night. Puck drop for Friday's game is set for 7:05 p.m. while Sunday's game is slated for a 5:05 p.m. start.

Friday, March 8th - Police Officer Appreciation Night

The Royals are proud to pay tribute to our local police officers on March 8th. Discounted tickets for Police Officer Appreciation Night are available to all family, friends and supporters of Greater Victoria police officers for just $12.00 in person at the Select Your Tickets Box Office, by phone at 250-220-7889 or online by visiting www.selectyourtickets.com/promo and using the code "COPPERS13." With every discounted ticket sold, $1.00 will go back to the Victoria chapter of Cystic Fibrosis Canada!

Police Officer Appreciation Night will be presented by 103.1 Jack FM and Ocean 98.5 FM. Friday night will see a number of police vehicles displayed both inside and outside of the arena while fans are also encouraged to stop by one of the many interesting concourse displays from Greater Victoria's police departments. The festivities on Police Officer Appreciation night kick off early as there will be a ceremonial puck drop and mascots from local police departments to entertain fans.

During the game, fans are encouraged to purchase foam pucks for the Old House Village Chuck-A-Puck for their chance to win great prizes during the second intermission. Foam pucks will be sold in the concourse by volunteers of Greater Victoria's police departments and Victoria's chapter of Cystic Fibrosis Canada. All proceeds from the evening's Chuck-A-Puck will go towards the Victoria chapter of Cystic Fibrosis Canada!

"We are honoured that the Royals would recognize our agencies' commitment to our respective communities through this event," said Cst. Mike Russell, VicPD's Media Spokesperson. "The donations from this event will make a meaningful difference for those that live with Cystic Fibrosis in the Capital Regional District."

Sunday, March 10th - Firefighter Appreciation Night

On Sunday, March 10th the Royals will honour our local firefighters when they take on the top-ranked team in the Canadian Hockey League, the Portland Winterhawks. Firefighter Appreciation Night will be presented by 103.1 Jack FM and Ocean 98.5 FM. Discounted tickets for Firefighter Appreciation Night are available to all family, friends and supporters of Greater Victoria firefighters for just $12.00 in person at the Select Your Tickets Box Office, by phone at 250-220-7889 or online by visiting www.selectyourtickets.com/promo and using the code "HOSES13." With every discounted ticket sold, $2.00 will go back to the Greater Victoria Firefighters Community Fund!

Pre-game festivities on Sunday will include a special ceremonial puck drop highlighting former local junior hockey stars who now work or volunteer within one of Greater Victoria's fire departments! Fans are also encouraged to stick around after the game to skate with Victoria Royals players by donation! All donations for Sunday's skate with the team event will also support the Greater Victoria Firefighters Community Fund!
