
Royals Nab F Fawcett, D Cockerill from JAX for D Dornbrock

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, announced Wednesday the club has acquired forward Tyson Fawcett and defenseman Garret Cockerill from Jacksonville for defenseman Scott Dornbrock.
A fifth-year professional from Barrie, ON, Fawcett scored three goals and four points in 29 games with Jacksonville this season. He has played 272 ECHL games and produced 51 goals and 117 points. As a rookie with Brampton in 2014-15, Fawcett made the ECHL All-Star game and generated nine goals and 24 points. The next season with Evansville, Fawcett scored a career-best 22 goals and 42 points. He was Elmira's alternate captain in 2016-17. The Royals are his eighth professional team.
In two seasons with Jacksonville, Fawcett posted 11 goals, 27 points and 73 penalty minutes in 75 games. He stands 5-foot-7, 165 lbs and is 25 years old. Fawcett played two seasons in the OHL (2012-14) with his hometown Barrie Colts and notched 35 goals and 70 points in 130 games.
Cockerill, 24, had four goals and 14 points in 40 games with Jacksonville this campaign and also appeared in four games with Cleveland. Last season, the second-year professional played in 13 games with Northeastern University (1g, 15 pts.) and signed an ECHL deal with Kalamazoo in Dec. 2017. Cockerill scored one goal and six points with Kalamazoo (8 GP) and was loaned to Cleveland. With the Monsters, Cockerill added three goals, 14 points and 32 penalty minutes. Cockerill is 6-foot, 201 pounds and a native of Brighton, MI.
At Northeastern (2014-17), Cockerill rung up 84 points (19g) in three-plus seasons (122 GP). He led Northeastern's blue line in points as a sophomore (22) and junior (33).
Dornbrock played 24 games with Reading and posted one goal, eight assists, an even rating and 24 penalty minutes.
The Royals host Maine Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. and host a postgame player autograph session at the Doubletree hotel following the game.
