Reading took a commanding 3-1 lead in the first period in Greensboro but couldn't hold the lead. The Generals scored three unanswered goals to skate to a 4-3 regulation win. Peter Hay got the scoring going for Reading just 3:34 into the game blasting a slapshot past Daniel Berthiaume to put Reading up 1-0. Greensboro tied the game just over 2-minutes later as Tom Reiman converted on the power play firing the puck past Royals goaltender Cody Rudkowsky. The Royals would counter with two power play goals by newcomer Scooter Smith to give Reading a 3-1 cushion. Joe Gerbe would cut the lead to 3-2 with an unassisted goal to close the first period.

Greensboro added a Sam Ftorek goal in the second period and Eric Fortier would notch the game winner on a five on three power play in the early stages of the third period. Ftorek and Fortier lead the team with ten goals on the season.

The Royals season high three game win streak was snapped with the loss. The Royals continue with their road trip as they battle the Florence Pride in South Carolina on Friday night. Catch all the action at www.royalshockey.com by clicking on the ESPN radio icon.
