Wheeling Nailers News Release
WHEELING, West Virginia -- After dropping three straight games to their arch
rivals the Johnstown Chiefs the Wheeling Nailers were finally able to get a
full team on the ice and it showed. With the return of JC Ruid and JF Dufour
from the AHL, Coach Bingham's boys pounded the Chiefs and former NHL
goaltender Dufour, who is second on the team with seven tallies, gave Wheeling a 3-0
lead with only 5:45 remaining in the second period and followed over two
minutes later for a four-goal cushion. Chris McNamara recorded a goal and two assists and T.J. Reynolds scored on
the power play for the Nailers, who snapped their three-game losing streak.
Tyler MacKay stopped 27 of 28 shots to earn his third win of the season.
Pierre-Luc Courchesne notched the lone goal for Johnstown, which had its
six-game unbeaten streak halted. Arturs Irbe gave up six goals on 37 shots
to take the loss.
