Royals Complete Trade with Winterhawks

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals today announced that the club has received a conditional pick in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft from the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for 1998-born defenceman Jared Freadrich.

The native of Camrose, AB played in 71 games for the Royals during the 2017-18 season and collected 32 points (12g-20a) along with 45 minutes in penalties. Freadrich also took part in 11 contests during the 2018 WHL Playoffs where he recorded eight points (1g-7a) and four minutes in penalties.

Over 196 WHL games split between the Royals, Red Deer Rebels and Regina Pats, the 5-10, 177 lb blueliner scored 23 goals and 60 assists for 83 points to go along with 122 penalty minutes. Freadrich has played in 30 post-season games so far over his WHL career and tallied 13 points (1g-12a) and 14 penalty minutes.

Freadrich was originally drafted by Regina in 2013 and joined the Royals prior to the 2017-18 season.
