
ICE 2018 WHL Bantam Draft Breakdown

Red Deer, AB. - The Kootenay ICE added nine players to their organization at the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft on Thursday.
Four forwards, four defencemen and one goaltender were selected.
If you don't know much about the newest members of the ICE family, here is a breakdown of their 2017-18 season:
Carson Lambos - First Round - Second Overall - Defenceman
Hometown: Winnipeg, MB
Carson Lambos - six-feet, 197-pounds - played the 2017-18 season with the Rink Hockey Academy Nationals Bantam Prep of the CSSHL.
The 15-year-old recorded 15 goals and 25 assists for 40 points in 30 regular season games. Lambos also added 11 points in five playoff games.
Lambos led all defencemen in points in the CSSHL's Bantam Prep league and was named the 2017-18 CSSHL Bantam Prep Top Defenceman.
Lambos helped lead the RHA Nationals to a bantam prep championship finals appearance against OHA Edmonton.
Lambos' teammate Skyler Bruce was also drafted by the ICE on Thursday. Bruce was picked in the second round (29th overall).
Karter Prosofsky - Second Round - 26th Overall - Defenceman
Hometown: Saskatoon, SK
Karter Prosofsky suited up in 24 games with the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy Bantam Prep of the CSSHL during the 2017-18 season.
The five-foot-nine, 150-pound defenceman potted eight goals and registered 18 points in those 24 games.
Skyler Bruce - Second Round - 29th Overall - Forward
Hometown: Winnipeg, MB
In his first season with the Rink Hockey Academy Nationals Bantam Prep of the CSSHL, Skyler Bruce scored 21 goals and 40 points in 30 regular season games.
The five-foot-eight, 127-pound forward added three goals and eight points in five playoff games.
Bruce finished second on his team in goals and points.
Bruce helped lead the RHA Nationals to a bantam prep championship finals appearance against OHA Edmonton. He was also named the CSSHL's Bantam Prep Most Sportsmanlike Player for the 2017-18 season.
Bruce's teammate Carson Lambos was also selected by the ICE. Lambos was picked in the first round (second overall).
Nathan Airey - Fifth Round - 110th overall - Goaltender
Hometown: Cochrane, AB
Nathan Airey posted a sparkling 1.86 goals against average, a .928 save percentage and three shutouts in 16 regular season games with the Airdrie Xtreme Bantam AAA of the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL) during the 2017-18 season.
The 5'11", 148-pounder also suited up in nine playoffs games, posting a 2.39 goals against average and a .906 save percentage.
During the regular season, Airey finished second in the league in goals against average and save percentage.
Airey and his Airdrie Xtreme squad captured the AMBHL championship, the provincial championship and were runners-up at the 2018 Western Bantam AAA Championships.
Ethan Sundar - Sixth Round - 127th overall - Forward
Hometown: St. Albert, AB
Ethan Sundar spent the 2017-18 season with the St. Albert Sabres Bantam AAA of the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL). In 36 regular season games, Sundar registered 28 goals and 36 assists for 64 points. In 13 playoff games, the five-foot-seven, 135-pound forward recorded 10 goals and 19 points leading his team to the league final.
Sundar finished second in the league in points.
Sundar helped his St. Albert squad get to the AMBHL championship finals.
Hughie Hooker - Seventh Round - 149th overall - Defenceman
Hometown: Brandon, MB
Hughie Hooker played 31 regular season games for the Winnipeg Monarchs of the Winnipeg Bantam AAA Div. 1 (WBAAA) during the 2017-18 season.
In those 31 games, Hooker potted 15 goals and finished the season with 35 points. The five-foot-five, 140-pound defenceman added one goal and three points in four playoff games.
Evan Waldie - Eighth Round - 158th overall - Forward
Hometown: Sherwood Park, AB
Evan Waldie spent the 2017-18 season with OHA Edmonton Bantam Prep of the CSSHL.
In 29 regular season games, the five-foot-ten, 163-pound forward recorded 20 goals and 40 points. Waldie added one goal and six points in five playoff games.
Waldie helped his OHA Edmonton squad to a league championship over the RHA Nationals.
Kevin Anderson - Ninth Round - 180th overall - Forward
Hometown: Regina, SK
Kevin Anderson played in 29 regular season games with the Notre Dame Hounds Bantam Prep of the CSSHL during the 2017-18 season.
The five-foot-seven, 120-pound forward scored six goals and had 22 points in those 29 games.
Colby Ball - 10th Round - 202nd overall - Defenceman
Hometown: Sherwood Park, AB
Colby Ball suited up in 35 regular season games for the Sherwood Park Flyers Bantam AAA of the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL) during the 2017-18 season.
The five-foot-ten, 146-pound defender recorded seven goals and 19 points during the regular season.
