Royals Claim Defenseman Read off Waivers

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals, affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, have announced that they have claimed defenseman Trevor Read off of waivers from Long Beach.

The 24-year-old defenseman has played in 39 games with the Ice Dogs this season. He has three goals and 12 points with 19 penalty minutes. The Calgary, Alberta native is in his third season professionally. Last year he appeared in 73 games with Long Beach, Peoria and Toledo. In total, he scored nine goals and 35 points along with 55 minutes in penalties.

Reading looks to break a two-game slide this weekend as they travel to Atlantic City on Saturday afternoon to battle the Bullies at 2:05 p.m. in Historic Boardwalk Hall. Reading returns home on Sunday to face Toledo at 5:05 p.m. Sunday's are Comcast Family Four Pack Nights...Fans get four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for just $44. Reading and Trenton meet on Tuesday, February 15th in the Sovereign Center at 7:05 p.m. Diamond Credit Union is handing out Royals All-Star Ryan Kinasewich action cards to the first 2,500 fans, plus the Royals will be wearing special Canadian sweaters for the game.
