Royals' Brandon Magee Invited to Edmonton Oilers Development Camp

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals would like to congratulate Brandon Magee who has been invited to the Development Camp of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Edmonton Oilers.

The Edmonton, AB native is coming off his second full Western Hockey League (WHL) season with the Chilliwack Bruins/Victoria Royals franchise. In 131 games thus far in his junior career, Magee has notched 76 points (35g-41a) and 124 penalty minutes. The Royals' centre has also participated in five WHL playoff contests where he recorded three assists and two minutes in penalties.

The 5'8", 172 lb forward has also put on the Canadian jersey after he represented Team Pacific at the 2011 World Under-17 Hockey Championship. During the tournament, Magee tallied five goals and 16 penalty minutes in six games on route to the bronze medal. The 18-year-old was selected by the Chilliwack Bruins with their fourth round, 84th overall pick in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft and has spent his entire junior career with Bruins/Royals franchise.

The Edmonton Oilers Development Camp runs from June 27-July 2, 2012 in Edmonton, AB and will consist of off-ice and on-ice sessions, as well as a 3-on-3 tournament.
