Royals' Austin Carroll to Attend Phoenix Coyotes Development Camp

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals would like to congratulate forward Austin Carroll on his invite to the Development Camp of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Phoenix Coyotes.

The 6'3", 204 lb winger just finished his first full season in the Western Hockey League (NHL) where he tallied 20 points (8g-12a) and 80 penalty minutes in 62 games. Carroll also recorded two goals and six penalty minutes in four games during the 2012 WHL Playoffs.

The 18-year-old was originally drafted by the Chilliwack Bruins in the ninth round, 179th overall in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft. Before he joined the Royals, Carroll spent one season with the BCHL's Coquitlam Express in which he amassed 11 points (6g-5a) and 28 minutes in penalties during 42 games.

The Phoenix Coyotes Development Camp runs from June 26-June 29, 2012 in Scottsdale, Arizona and will mainly consist of on-ice sessions.
