
Rox Win in Extras in Front of Capacity Crowd

St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud Rox defeated the Duluth Huskies 5-4 in 12 innings in front of a crowd of 2,011 at the Rock Pile Thursday night.
Domenick Carlini (Southeastern Louisiana University) started on the mound for the Rox and went six innings and struck out three batters. Collin Strall (Louisiana State University) would take over for one inning, striking out one batter.
Trevor Charpie (Saddleback Community College) came into the game in the eighth inning. He would go on to throw two innings and recording three strikeouts. Brian Glowicki (University of Minnesota) would follow Charpie with two innings and three strikeouts.
Erik Martinez (Cal-Berkeley) would pick up the win after throwing in the 12th inning as he struck out two batters.
The scoring for the Rox started in the second inning when Joe Tietjen (UNC Asheville) singled in Connor Crane (McNeese State). The scoring would continue in the third inning when Lee Miller (Davidson College) would triple to bring in John Sansone (Florida State). That play in the third inning was followed by Webb Bobo (Southeastern Louisiana University) hitting a sacrifice fly, bringing in Miller to score.
Bobo would drive in his second RBI of the night in the fifth inning when he doubled in Sansone.
The final Rox run would be scored in the 12th inning when Brett Pope (Western Carolina University) was walked then moved over to second on a bunt by Jake Farr (Tennessee Tech). Pope would be brought in for the winning run on a Miller single.
The Rox are now 8-1 in the second half and 27-16 overall. St. Cloud is in sole position of the North Division for the second half and is tied for first place with Willmar for the overall standings.
The Rox will travel to Duluth tomorrow night as they finish the two-game series versus the Huskies at 6:35 p.m.
The next Rox home game will be on Tuesday, July 14th when they take on the Willmar Stingers at the Rock Pile starting at 7:05 p.m. Gates for fans will open at 6:05 p.m. It will be Faith in Action Night with a pre-game youth clinic presented by Fellowship of Christian Athletes, YMCA, and Northland Capital Financial Services, LLC.
