
Rox raise over $15,000 for foundation fighting blindness

On Friday evening, The Rox hosted the 3rd Annual Hot Stove Banquet at the Shaw's Center. As part of the event, the Rox held live auctions, silent auctions, and raffles to raise money for the Foundation Fighting Blindness. Through these fundraisers the Rox generated over $15,000 to benefit the Foundation Fighting Blindness during Friday's event through live auctions, silent auctions and raffles. "We are touched by the generosity of our fans in joining us to support this cause," said Rox President Jim Lucas. Rox GM David Sacchetti added, "When the people of our town come together to show their support they never fail to astound me with their selflessness." The feature item of the evening was a Red Sox jersey signed by 24 members of the 2004 Championship Team. The jersey was auctioned for $6,500. Four tickets to a 2005 Red Sox/Yankee game in New York were auctioned for $3,500. Other items included Red Sox jerseys signed by the events keynote speakers Butch Hobson and Bernie Carbo. Brockton Rox jerseys signed by Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson were also auctioned.
