New Jersey Jackals News Release
It's official! The New Jersey Jackals today released the new schedule for the 2005 baseball season. The New Jersey Jackals will start their 8th season on the road, with a game against the Bangor Lumberjacks in Bangor, ME. Their first home game will be on June 2, also against the Bangor Lumberjacks, in their home park, Yogi Berra Stadium. This season, the Jackals will play 92 games from May through September. As part of the Can-Am League, the Jackals will also play the Brockton Rox, Elmira Pioneers, New Haven County Cutters, North Shore Spirit, Les Capitales de Quebec and newest team to the league, Worcester (MA).
This year's lineup includes good, wholesome fun for everyone. Aside from great, affordable professional baseball games, the Jackals home schedule is loaded with great events, giveaways and promotions. The Jackals have arranged for three-day games that are great, fun trips for school and camp groups. The first day game, which is perfect for school field trips, will be on June 8, at 11:05am. The second and third day games, which are convenient for camp groups, will be on July 13 at 12:05pm and August 3 at 12:05pm, respectively. In addition, the Jackals will once again be holding fireworks shows in 2005 â June 4, July 2, Aug. 6 and Sept. 1 and will be reaching out to the Boy and Girl Scouts in the area by hosting sleepovers on the field. The Girl Scouts' sleepover will be held on June 3 and the Boy Scouts' sleepovers will be held on June 17 and 18. Space for the day games and sleepovers is limited; group reservations are required to participate.
The Jackals will release their complete promotional schedule in the weeks to come. In the meantime, log on to www.jackals.com to view the promotions scheduled for the new mini-plan dates during the 2005 season. Full and partial ticket packages are available, as well as group tickets, and can be reserved by calling the front office at 973-746-7434. Jackals play their home games at Yogi Berra Stadium, located on the grounds of Montclair State University. Yogi Berra Stadium opened in 1998 as the first top-of-the-line stadium in the Can-Am League. The stadium, which is flanked by the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center on its first-base side, has quickly earned the reputation as the home of champions as the Jackals have won four championship titles in seven years.
