Rox Hit the Road with 10-5 Win

After a 3-hit night in his professional debut Saturday night, Hunter Stovall one-upped himself Sunday slugging four hits in the Grand Junction Rockies 10-5 win over the Ogden Raptors at Suplizio Field.

Stovall's first hit came in the first inning and it preceded Niko Decolati's third home run, which put the Rockies up 2-0. They added two the lead in the second when Cristopher Navarro doubled home Zach Hall, and Stovall made it 4-0 with an RBI double of his own.

The Rockies then took advantage of a couple of Ogden errors in the third and scored three unearned runs, capped by L.J. Hatch's 2-run single, that would be all the offense for awhile as the Rockies got great pitching for much of the day. Feltner tossed two scoreless innings in his professional debut, and Alejandro Mejia held the Raptors to just an unearned run over the next five innings. The Raptors scored three runs in the eighth to get within three, but the Rockies got those runs back in the bottom of the inning, with Stovall driving home the last two.

Will Golsan finished with two hits, while Grant Lavigne extended his hitting streak to nine games.

The win improves the Rockies to 11-13 on the season. After their first off day of the season, they'll head to Billings for the first game of a 4-game series.
