Brockton Rox News Release

BROCKTON - Saturday night's game between the Brockton Rox and the Can-Am Grays was suspended due to league curfew on Saturday night with the score tied 7-7 after ten complete innings.

After just one batter, rain delayed the game for an hour and a half.

When the game resumed, the Grays took a lead in the bottom of the first inning when B.J. Weed scored on a single by Joe Jianetti.

The Rox tied the game, 1-1, in the third inning on a solo home run by Brad Rosenblat. Rosenblat's home run was his tenth of the season and his fifth in three games.

The Rox took the lead with a four-run fourth inning. Willie King singled to score Kris Zacuto and put the Rox ahead, 2-1. Rosenblat then singled to score Matt Cucurullo and King to extend the Rox lead, 4-1. Andrew Salvo scored on a sacrifice fly by Jake Daubert to put the Rox up, 5-1.

The Grays chipped away at the Rox lead scoring single runs in each the fourth and fifth innings to make it, 5-3.

The Rox added two insurance runs in the seventh inning. Cucurullo doubled to score Brian Jones, and then scored himself on King's second single of the night to give the Rox a 7-3 lead.

In the bottom of the seventh, Rox starter Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd retired the first two batters. Boyd then gave up back-to-back singles before being relieved by Eddie Aucoin. Aucoin gave up three singles, and hit a batter, as the Grays rallied to tie the game, 7-7.

The game remained tied through ten full innings. The game will resume on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. The Rox and Grays will finish Saturday's game before playing the final game of the series.
