St. Cloud, MN - The St. Cloud Rox are excited to announce the hiring of Max Baker as the team's radio broadcaster and voice of the Rox for the 2015 season.
Originally from Minnesota where he attended Wayzata High School, Baker got his start in sports broadcasting at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, from which he is a recent graduate. He served as a play-by-play announcer and covered a variety of sports, including football, baseball, basketball, soccer and hockey for the University's student radio station KRNU. He also hosted the weekly sports talk radio show "The Sports Bakery" on the station.
Baker's experience also includes work at ESPN affiliated radio stations in both Minneapolis and Lincoln, where he worked as a producer for the drive-time radio shows at both 1500 ESPN Twin Cities and ESPN 1480 in Lincoln. Additionally, he now hosts his own sports talk segment titled "The Baker's Dozen" which can be found online at www.soundcloud.com/the-sports-bakery.
An avid user of social media, Max can be found on twitter-- @MaxBaker17. He is looking forward to interacting with Rox fans throughout the summer on twitter, and answering any questions that fans may have.
Baker will call all 72 Rox games during the 2015 season, which can be heard locally on AM 1390 The FAN, or online at www.stcloudrox.com.
The Rox home opener is Saturday, May 30th at Joe Faber Field as the Rox take on the Thunder Bay Border Cats at 7:05p.m. There will be a post-game fireworks show presented by Coborn's. Season and group tickets for the 2015 season are currently available by contacting the Rox ticket office at (320) 240-9798.
