
Rox fall to Cutters, 8-2

BROCKTON â The Rox dropped the rubber game of their three-game set with the New Haven County Cutters, 8-2, Wednesday afternoon, in front of 4,499 at Campanelli Stadium.
The Rox got out to an early lead on Hector Henriquez's first-inning home run, a solo shot to left field and his first home run of the season.
The Cutters tied the game in the second, and took the lead in the fifth on Billy Rich's solo home run.
The Cutters added two more in the seventh, while the Rox came back with a run in their half of the inning, halving the New Haven lead, 4-2.
But the Cutters added four runs in the eighth as Rox reliever Benji Dequin failed to retire a batter.
Jon Koch, who went 6 2/3 innings, giving up four runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out two, took the loss for the Rox, dropping his record to 1-3.
Jake Daubert's second-inning single was the 400th hit of his career.
The Rox are now 4½ games behind the Bangor Lumberjacks, who face the Elmira Pioneers Wednesday night, in the wild card race, with 16 games remaining.
