WILLMAR-The St Cloud Rox dropped a close game to the Willmar Stingers by a score of 4-3 Wednesday night at Bill Taunton Stadium. The Rox are now 4-4 on the season.
Carlos Lopez (Cal State-Fullerton) had a pair of hits in the game for the Rox, including a solo home run to lead off the top of the fourth inning. Lopez's second dinger of the season briefly gave the Rox a 3-2 lead, the last time they would lead the game. Phil Imholte (St Cloud State) added an RBI and an outfield assist for the Rox.
The Stingers saw eight players register at least one hit in the game, and were led at the plate by Kenny Roberts (Alabama). The second baseman was 3-3 with a walk and two stolen bases.
The Rox are back at it Thursday night for another game at Bill Taunton Stadium (7:05 pm). Their next home game is Rox Logo Baseball Giveaway night on Monday, July 16th, presented by Franklin Outdoor Advertising. The first 250 fans through the gates will receive a baseball.
