
Rox dropped, 7-3, by Grays

BROCKTON - Lincoln Mincks pitched the Can-Am Grays to a 7-3 victory over the Brockton Rox at Campanelli Stadium on Tuesday. Mincks (9-7) pitched a seven-inning complete game, giving up three runs on seven hits.
Grant Dorn (5-3) took the loss throwing 121 pitches in 5.2 innings. Dorn gave up five runs, two earned, on eight hits and three walks.
The Grays (7-32) scored in the second inning when Bernard Caston doubled home Alex Garcia to give the Grays a 1-0 lead.
The Grays extended their lead in the fourth inning. With two outs, Bernard Caston reached on an error by Willie King. After Brad Hargraves walked, Joe Jianetti hit his 11th home run of the year. The three-run shot gave the Grays a 4-0 lead.
In the sixth inning Mark Burke doubled home Jianetti to make it, 5-0 Grays. The Rox got on the board in the bottom half of the inning when Matt Cucurullo scored as Jake Daubert grounded into a double play.
The Grays scored two more times in the seventh. Alex Garcia tripled in Charles Peterson and then scored on a single by Caston. The Rox (23-17) answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning. Brad Rosenblat scored on a double by Hector Henriquez, and Henriquez scored on a single by Andrew Salvo. The two runs were not enough as the Rox fell, 7-3.
The second game of the doubleheader was postponed due to fog. The Rox and Grays will make up the fogged out game as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday beginning at 5:05 p.m.
