Hunter Stovall finished a home run shy of the cycle as the Rockies three-game losing skid came to an end with a 5-2 win over the Great Falls Voyagers Sunday afternoon at Centene Stadium.
Stovall scored two runs and brought home a run as the Rockies improved to 14-16 on the season.
Ryan Feltner made his second professional start and kept the Voyagers off the scoreboard for three innings, but Voyagers starter Spencer Moran matched him, but that changed in the fourth inning when Stovall singled with one out and scored on Coco Montes' RBI double.
The lead didn't last long as Corey Zangari doubled home Logan Sowers with Will Tribucher on the mound, but the Rockies regained the lead in the fifth and never gave it back.
Reese Berberet started the fifth inning with a triple and scored when Cristopher Navarro reached on a fielder's choice. Then with nobody on and two out, the Rockies rallied for another run as Stovall followed Will Golsan's double with an RBI triple. Franklin Garcia doubled home Grant Lavigne in the sixth to make it 5-1 Rockies.
After giving up the run in the fourth, Tribucher kept Great Falls off the scoreboard in the fifth and earned the first win of his professional career. Moises Ceja threw two scoreless innings, while Rayne Supple threw up a zero in the eighth. Alexander Martinez gave up a run in the ninth on a 2-out RBI single by Maiker Feliz, but came back to get Ian Dawkins to ground into a fielder's choice, ending the game and the Voyager's 5-game winning streak.
Montes finished with two hits, giving him his 14th multi-hit game of the season. Decolati added a pair of hits as well.
The Rockies will finish their seven-game Montana trip Monday night in the rubber-game of their three game series in Great Falls. Ryan Rolison will be on the mound for his second professional start.
