St. Cloud Rox News Release

WILLMAR-The St Cloud Rox defeated the Willmar Stingers 4-2 Saturday night at Bill Taunton Stadium. The win moves the Rox back to .500 on the season and keeps them in the thick of the North Division's second half race.

Phil Imholte (St Cloud State) was 2-4 with a single, a triple and two RBI. Elvin Soto (Pittsburgh) contributed a pair of runs scored while going 1-2 at the plate.

Andy Urban (Creighton) pitched well for the Rox in his seventh start of the season.

The righty lasted five innings and allowed two runs on five hits with five strikeouts. Urban was picked up mightily by his bullpen, with Anthony Mollica (Jacksonville), Ty Jackson (Washington State) and Adam Maxon (Jacksonville) combining to shut out the Stingers over the game's final four innings.

The Rox struck first in the top of the second inning when Soto scored on a Willmar error off of the bat of Imholte. The Stingers took the lead in the bottom of the second with a pair of runs but did not score again.

St. Cloud tied the game in the top of the fourth inning with an Imholte single to score Jackson, then took the lead in the top of the sixth when Imholte tripled to again score Soto.

The Rox also scored a lone run in the top of the seventh inning when Mark Rhine (Wake Forest) laced a single to score Andy Henkemeyer (Minnesota) to make the score 4-2.

The Rox are back at home for Faith In Action Day Sunday presented by YMCA, Northland Capital Financial Services and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. There will be a clinic held at Apollo High School from 3-5 pm, followed by the Rox game at 6 pm. It's also a Coborn's Kid's Day at Joe Faber Field, which means kids have the opportunity to run the bases and collect autographs after the game. Visit www.StCloudRox.com for tickets.
