May 25, 2003 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Berkshire Black Bears News Release

Tim Bausher pitched four strong innings for the Berkshire Black Bears, striking out eight and only allowing one run off three hits, but it wasn't enough for the Black Bears. The New Jersey Jackals completed the sweep of the Black Bears Sunday winning the game 4-3.

The Black Bears put up three runs in the top of the 1st inning, but that was all the scoring they would get. Jason Clark led of the game with a ground ball that Joe Kerrigan mishandled. Clark then stole second base, and was driven in on an RBI double by Kevin Forbes. Hopper then reached on another Jackal error, and Ryan Jones brought Forbes home on an RBI single. A Pete Paciorek double play plated Hopper.

With the score 3-1 in favor of the Black Bears in the bottom of the 5th, Travis Bailey and Carlos Pagan hit back to back two-out homeruns off losing pitcher Doug Dimma to tie the game at 3-3.

In the bottom of the 6th inning, the Jackals pulled ahead for good when Chris Rowan led off the inning with a single, stole second, and scored on a Mikaela Dworken RBI single.

Kevin Forbes went 3-4 on the day, and Ryan Jones went 2-3 for the Black Bears.

Chris Rowan went 3-4 with two stolen bases, and Travis Bailey ended up going 2-4 with a homerun and two runs scored. Gary Louden picked up the win for the Jackals and Julio Perez earned his second save of the season.

The Berkshire Black Bears drop to 0-4 to begin the season, while the New Jersey Jackals improve their record to 4-0.

The Black Bears will be off on Monday, and will travel to Brockton Tuesday to face the Rox in a 3-game series.
