The 93 mph slap shot is back

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Aces saw another popular skater return to the Great Land Today, as former Aces forward-defenseman Sean Rowe signed with his former team for the 2002-03 West Coast Hockey League season.

Rowe, who departed Anchorage after spending five seasons with the team from 1996 to 2001, will bring his Howitzer of a slap shot and execution in the clutch to the Sullivan Arena. The Aces couldn't be happier to see the long-time fan favorite return, according to General Manager Derek Donald.

"It's just another indication of how much guys believe in our new organization," Donald said. "Sean's one of the more meaningful players in our history as a professional hockey club. He's come through for us time and time again, he's a great person and he's well liked in the community."

Rowe, who spent last season with the United Hockey League's B.C. Icemen, would like to finish his career in Anchorage, Donald explained. The native of Halifax, Nova Scotia scored 28 goals and 55 points in 64 games for B.C. He checks in at 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, and has the versatility to play both forward and defensive positions, should the Aces need him to. He's never scored fewer than 42 points in a professional season, twice tallying 96 for Anchorage (1996-97, 1998-99).
