Round Rock Express News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY - Esteban German's one-out RBI single plated the game-winning run in a four-run seventh inning as the Oklahoma City RedHawks rallied past the Round Rock Express 5-3 in Tuesday night's series opener at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The Express (43-61) fell to 2-7 this season against the RedHawks (54-48), including a 1-4 mark at The Brick.

Starter Andy Van Hekken gave way to reliever Gary Majewski with two on and one out in the seventh; the Express clung to a 3-1 lead. However, Majewski could not make the lead stick. Gary Petit greeted Majewski with a single to load the bases, and Craig Gentry followed with a game-tying, two-run single. German scored Petit with a single to right, and Mitch Moreland capped the four-run frame with a sacrifice fly.

That made a winner of Oklahoma City starter Guillermo Moscoso (7-3). He allowed three runs on six hits and four walks with seven strikeouts over 7.0 innings. Tanner Scheppers held the Express scoreless over the last two innings with a walk and two strikeouts for his second save.

Majewski (3-3) suffered his sixth blown save and took the loss. He was credited with two runs on three hits with one strikeout in two-thirds of an inning. Van Hekken surrendered three runs on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts over 6.1 innings. Casey Daigle pitched a perfect ninth with one strikeout.

Round Rock plated three runs on three hits in the third to snap a scoreless tie; all the damage came with two outs and the bases empty. Wladimir Sutil started things with a walk, and Brian Bogusevic followed with a ground-rule double. Tommy Everidge plated both runners with another ground-rule double and scored on Matt Kata's RBI single.

Oklahoma City got a run back in the bottom of the inning. Gentry singled with one out, and German followed with an RBI double.

Six different Express players had one hit each: Bogusevic, Everidge, Kata, Collin DeLome, Drew Locke and Oswaldo Navarro. Eight of nine starters reached base safely.

Gentry and German each had two hits and two RBI. Gentry scored twice.

Round Rock and Oklahoma City continue the series Wednesday with an 11:05 a.m. CDT first pitch at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. Right-hander Shane Loux (2-9, 7.13 ERA) takes the mound for the Express, opposite RedHawks southpaw Derek Holland (4-1, 0.93 ERA).
