RoughRiders to Play on CBS Sports Network July 9

FRISCO, TEXAS (JULY 8, 2014) - The Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, will play in a nationally televised broadcast on Thursday, July 9 on the CBS Sports Network. The RoughRiders take on the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, Double-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, at 7:05 p.m. CDT from Arvest Ballpark in Springdale, Arkansas.

The game is part of Minor League Baseball's partnership with CBS Sports Network in which the latter airs an MiLB "Game of the Week" throughout the 2015 season.

CBS Sports Network is available in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on AT&T U-verse TV (channel 643/1643 HD), DIRECTV (channel 221), DISH Network (channel 158/158 HD), Time Warner Cable (channel 315), and Verizon FiOS (channel 94/594 HD).

Dick Gabriel and Doug Flynn will anchor the broadcast, while Lauren Gardner will serve as roving reporter. Gabriel, a three-time Kentucky Sportscaster of the Year, currently works as a special projects producer at WKYT-TV in Lexington, Kentucky. For the past 24 seasons, Gabriel has manned the sidelines as a reporter for the UK football network and his resume includes play-by-play work for UK softball and baseball.

Flynn is a two-time World Series Champion with the Cincinnati Reds in 1975 and 1976. He also won a Gold Glove Award at second base with the New York Mets. He retired in 1985 after an 11-year major league career.

Gardner joined the CBS Sports Network as a reporter in 2012. She is a native of Denver, Colorado and worked as a reporter and studio host for FSN Rocky Mountain.

The RoughRiders open a six-game road trip tonight against the Naturals at 7:05 p.m. The team returns to Dr Pepper Ballpark on Wednesday, July 15 to begin a four-game series with the Corpus Christi Hooks.
