Calgary Roughnecks News Release
Calgary, AB - Lacrosse's Battle of Alberta heats up Saturday when the Calgary Roughnecks and Edmonton Rush meet in Lethbridge for an exhibition game, with the winners taking home a spanking a new sporting trophy.
The cup, sponsored by Field of Dreams RV, is silver with a grey/black marble base.
"It may only be an exhibition tilt to some," said Roughnecks General Manager Kurt Silcott, "but whenever Edmonton and Calgary are involved in a sporting encounter of any kind, you can expect the fur to fly.
"And now that there's a trophy involved, along with the all important bragging rights, you can rest assured there will be no lack of intensity on the floor."
Ball drop for the Saturday game at Lethbridge's ENMAX Centre is 7.30 p.m.
The two clubs have already played one exhibition, with Calgary taking the honours 19-16.
The Roughnecks regular season begins at home to San Jose on January 12.
