Roughnecks Sign Nick Patterson to Practice Roster
March 13, 2013 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Calgary Roughnecks News Release
Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks announced today that the National Lacrosse League club has signed goaltender Nick Patterson to the practice roster and released forward Andrew Murphy from the practice player list.
Patterson, a native of Vancouver, British Columbia, has recorded a 12.08 goals-against average and 0.758 save percentage over 128 career NLL games with the Washington Stealth, Minnesota Swarm and Vancouver Ravens. The two-time NLL all-star (2008 and 2011) dressed for nine games with the Stealth this season before being released on March 1.
"We need to have a goaltender on the practice roster just in case one of our goalies gets injured down the stretch," said Roughnecks General Manager Mike Board. "Nick is a good, solid veteran who knows the league. If we do run into injury problems, he is capable to step in."
NLL clubs have until Friday, March 15 at 3 p.m. MT to submit their final 23-player active roster and three-player practice list to the league.
