Calgary Roughnecks News Release
Calgary, AB - Calgary Roughnecks General Manager Kurt Silcott has moved quickly to bolster a defence weakened by the recent loss of veterans Grant Hamilton and Rob Kirkby.
Former San Jose Stealth member Brenan Day was today signed to a one year contract. The deal is subject to National Lacrosse League approval.
Day, 26, played 11 games for San Jose in 2004, collecting nine points (3g, 6a), 29 loose balls and 39 penalty minutes.
"Brenan is a player that displayed a ton of potential not so long ago," said Silcott. "He's been under the radar for a bit, but he's always had great ability and we think we have a role on this team that suits his style."
Silcott added, "Given time, we think he will develop into the quality NLL player he once was projected to be."
Day is 6 ft. 2 in. and 200 lbs.
He lives in New Westminster, British Columbia.
