Roughnecks Defeat Swarm 19-15

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks scored nine goals in the second quarter en route to a 19-15 win over the Minnesota Swarm Friday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Dane Dobbie led the Roughnecks with a game-high six goals and four helpers, while Shawn Evans recorded one goal and set up seven others. Multi-goal efforts also came from Jeff Shattler (4g, 2a), Scott Ranger (2g, 3a) and Curtis Dickson (2g, 2a). Rookie Joe Resetarits, Nolan Heavenor, Daryl Veltman and Geoff Snider completed Calgary's scoring tally.

Mike Poulin, who picked up an assist on Dobbie's sixth goal of the night, made 30 saves for Calgary.

Callum Crawford led the Swarm with three goals and seven assists, while Ryan Benesch (4g, 3a), Kiel Matisz (2g, 4a) and Shayne Jackson (1g, 4a) each had a strong game for Minnesota. Cochrane native Joel Henry netted a pair of goals, while Jordan MacIntosh, Jeff Gilbert and David Earl each added a single marker in the loss.

The Roughnecks will have a bye next week during Week 11 of the National Lacrosse League schedule. Following the NLL trade deadline on Wednesday, March 13 at 3 p.m. MT, Calgary (6-5) returns to action at home against the Colorado Mammoth (2-7).
