Roughnecks Defeat Mammoth 19-12

Denver, CO - The Calgary Roughnecks scored seven first quarter goals en route to a 19-12 victory over the Colorado Mammoth Friday evening at the Pepsi Center.

Shawn Evans led the Roughnecks with a 12-point performance (4g, 8a), setting a new franchise record for most points in a game. Jeff Shattler recorded three goals and five assists, while Dane Dobbie (4g, 2a) and Scott Ranger (3g, 3a), who surpassed 200 career NLL assists, posted six-point efforts for Calgary. Curtis Dickson (3g), Daryl Veltman (1g) and Geoff Snider (1g) also scored in the win.

Gavin Prout recorded two goals and added four assists for the Mammoth, while John Grant Jr. (3g, 2a) and Adam Jones (2g, 3a) had a five-point performances in the loss.

Mike Poulin, relieved by Frankie Scigliano late in the fourth quarter, combined for 36 saves in the Roughnecks net. Snider won 23 of 29 face-offs and collected a game-leading 12 loose balls.

Calgary (1-2) returns to action on Sunday, January 27 in Philadelphia against the Wings (2-0) at 2 p.m. MT.

The next Roughnecks home game is Saturday, February 9 against the Edmonton Rush, with a 7 p.m. face-off.
