Roughnecks Can Clinch Western Division This Weekend

NEW YORK, NY (NLL) - The National Lacrosse League has announced the playoff scenarios entering the games of April 3-5, Week #14 of the 2009 season. With ten games on the schedule this weekend, there are six teams that have a chance to clinch one of the seven remaining playoff berths.
The Calgary Roughnecks, who became the first and only team to clinch a playoff berth so far, have an opportunity to clinch the West Division. In the East, the expansion Boston Blazers have a chance to clinch a playoff berth in their first season of play.
Playoff Scenarios
West Division
CALGARY ROUGHNECKS (9-3) have clinched a playoff berth. Can clinch the West Division regular season title with a win AND two Portland losses this weekend.
PORTLAND LUMBERJAX (6-5) Clinches a playoff berth this weekend with two wins AND a San Jose loss to Minnesota OR a Minnesota loss to Edmonton.
COLORADO MAMMOTH (6-6) Clinches a playoff berth with two wins this weekend AND a San Jose loss AND at least one Edmonton loss.
MINNESOTA SWARM (5-7) Clinches a playoff berth this weekend with two wins AND an Edmonton loss to Portland on Friday OR two Colorado wins.
East Division
BUFFALO BANDITS (8-4) Clinches a playoff berth this weekend with a win AND any ONE of the following; a Boston loss at Toronto; OR one Rochester loss OR one Philadelphia loss.
BOSTON BLAZERS (7-5) Clinches a playoff berth with two wins this weekend.
NEW YORK TITANS (7-5) Clinches a playoff berth this weekend with two wins,
OR with one win and a Toronto loss.
The top four teams in each division will advance to the 2009 Playoffs. All teams remain in playoff contention as the 2009 regular season enters its final three weekends of games. Be sure to watch all of the action live on the NLL Network at NLL.com. The playoffs will open on the weekend of May 1st.
