Calgary Roughnecks News Release
Calgary, AB - The game fitness of Riggers' stalwarts Jason Wulder and Andy Ogilvie will be placed under the microscope at this weekend's practices.
Though Wulder has attended camp over the past two months, he has not gone full tilt due to a stomach injury sustained in the summer while playing in the Western Lacrosse Association for Coquitlam.
Ogilvie, on the other hand, is taking the floor for the first time since wrecking a knee early in the Roughnecks' 2005 campaign.
"Both these guys are key to the organization," said General Manager Kurt Silcott today. "Not only are they great players, they are also terrific role models.
"Though neither of them wear the C or the A on their jerseys, both provide valued veteran leadership, which is invaluable on any team."
Silcott added, "It will be interesting to see how both these guys are feeling Saturday morning after Friday night's gruelling workout. We all have our fingers crossed that everything will be okay."
The Roughnecks will hold this weekend's practices at the Calgary Soccer Centre West (11014 Bearspaw Dam Road N.W.).
The Friday workout will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday's practice from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Both sessions are open to the media and the public.
The Roughnecks open the 2006 season with a home game against the Edmonton Rush on Friday, January 13.
