Gait to be honored on Friday

The Colorado Mammoth will honor former captain Gary Gait in a ceremony prior to the team's National Lacrosse League season opener at 7 p.m. against the Philadelphia Wings.

Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 6:45 p.m.

Gait will be joined by his family on the field as a banner representing his No. 22 jersey - the first to be retired by the team - will be unveiled and raised to the Pepsi Center rafters.

The team will also surprise Gait with the gift of a custom-made Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
