Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors return home this week to close out 2007 with a pair of games against division foes, both with special start times. On Saturday, Dec. 29 they battle the Stockton Thunder in an 8pm match, and on Sunday, Dec. 30 they take on the Las Vegas Wranglers at 6pm. Doors open one hour before game time.
On Saturday the Condors will honor one of the all- time Condorstown fan favorites, Paul Rosebush by retiring his familiar #17. Also, the first 2,000 fans 17 and older will receive a Bronze Paul Rosebush statue, courtesy of KGET-TV 17 and Quad Knopf. Rosebush will be available to sign autographs and pose for pictures during the second period at the new Condors Photo Booth as well.
Rosebush played seven seasons in Bakersfield, and no player appeared in more games in a Condors sweater. He is also the all-time Condors leader in both penalty minutes (900) and game-winning goals (20). Rosebush scored 20 or more goals four times, and ranks third in Condors history with 129 goals and 239 points. He is also fourth all-time in assists (110) and second in shorthanded goals (11). In his professional career, all but eight of his 424 games were with Bakersfield.
On Sunday, everyone in attendance will receive a Condors Cheer Sign, sponsored by the Bakersfield Californian, KERN 1410 and Lennar Homes. After the game, Condors Season Ticket Holders are welcome to stick around and hit the ice for a free post-game Skate with the Condors. Fans may bring their own skates to the game for this exclusive season ticket holder event, or limited skate rental is available for just $5. Sunday's Bakersfield Californian will also feature a coupon for a free Chuck- A-Puck at that night's game. The grand prize for Chuck-A-Puck, which rolls over after each game there is no winner, could be as high as $650 by Sunday.
The All-You-Can-Eat Pavilion is the newest way for Condors fans to satisfy both their hunger for hockey and their hunger for great grub! Only $20 for adults and $15 for children 12-and-under, the All-You-Can-Eat Pavilion includes your game ticket as well as access to a buffet that features a nacho bar, hot dogs, popcorn, pretzels, peanuts, water and soda.
