Augusta's Slattengren gets call to AHL

December 26, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release

Augusta, GA - Augusta Lynx Head Coach Bob Ferguson announced today that Lynx forward and leading scorer Aaron Slattengren has signed a professional tryout contract with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League. Manitoba currently sits in 2nd place in the AHL's North Division in the Western Conference.

"I said a while ago that it was only a matter of time before Aaron got his shot in the AHL this season, and now that it has happened and we wish him the best of luck while playing with Manitoba," said Ferguson. "Aaron is having a career season and although his departure leaves a void in our line-up, it will allow for some other players to try and step-up and pick up where he left off."

Slattengren, who turns 26 on Friday, had just been named to the ECHL All-Star team last week and is the Lynx leading scorer this season with 33 points (21 g, 12 a) in 28 games played. He was named as the ECHL Player of the Week in late November and has 10 points in nine games played so far in December.

The Lynx return to action from the holiday break on Thursday, December 27th in Charlotte against the Checkers before returning home for three home games in four nights on Friday, December 28th against Gwinnett; Saturday, December 29th against Columbia, and Monday, December 31st against Charlotte.
