San Angelo Colts News Release

Harlingen, TX---After finishing an eight game homestand by taking three of four from Laredo, the Colts headed out on the road to begin an eight game road trip beginning with four against the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings. It did not start out well for San Angelo and Andres Rosales went the whole nine, allowing, six hits, two runs, and three walks, while striking out six in the complete game victory, as the WhiteWings won game one 9-2.

The WhiteWings jumped all over the Colts early with three in the first beginning with an RBI single by Yeurys Tejeda and a two run homer by Welinson Baez (8) to go on top 3-0. It got worse in the second as Rio Grande scored four more times highlighted by a Yeurys Tejeda (10) solo homerun, a Luany Sanchez RBI single, a Domenic Di Ricco RBI ground out and a couple of errors to go up 7-0. Colts starter Bryan Heaston would then settle down throwing up zeros for the next three innings.

The WhiteWings would add a solo run in the sixth after Heaston's day was done on a sac fly RBI by Yeurys Tejeda, his third of the game, and were up 8-0. The Colts would finally get on the board in the top of the seventh on a Butch Ballez RBI double and an Isaac Garcia RBI ground out to make it 8-2. Rio Grande would get one more run in the bottom of that inning on an RBI single by Luany Sanchez to make it 9-2, which would be the final. Starter Bryan Heaston allowed eight runs (six earned) in five plus innings.

On Sunday the Colts will send out righty Ezequiel Astacio (6-4, 4.98) who is second in the ULB in wins and strikeouts against fellow righty David Cross (5-5, 4.74) in game two of this four game series. Sunday games usually begin at six; however, the second game of this series will start at seven. It all begins with the Kemps pre-game show beginning at 6:50 with the first pitch set for 7:05 on 1260 KKSA.
