Harlingen, TX---The Colts continue to tinker with their bullpen to get the right mix down the stretch with the playoffs rapidly approaching. On Saturday San Angelo picked up righty Cody Kelly who was released by the Shreveport-Bossier Captains of the American Association.
A rookie from Delta State University in Mississippi who went 7-1 with a 4.03 ERA, allowed 103 hits in 89 1/3 innings, with 76 strikeouts and only 17 walks as a senior this year. Kelley who began his professional career with the Captains is now a member of the San Angelo Colts. Kelley, who was solid in his first three starts with the Captains, earned his first win as a pro in the first-half clinching game on June 28. Cody was 1-1, with a 7.36 ERA with the Captains.
To make room on their roster the Colts inactivated righty Tristan Gaines the younger brother of Colts Centerfielder and Captain Ronnie Gaines.
