Richmond, INâ Richmond scored six runs in the first inning and never looked back, defeating the Evansville Otters 12-5.
The Roosters sent 12 men to the plate in the first, the big blow a three-run homer off the bat of Josh Hollingsworth. Richmond would eventually push the lead to 12-0 before the Otters started to make a comeback.
Evansville would score two in the seventh, the first one off the bat of O. J. Garza, who went 3-for-5 for the Otters with two RBIs.
Evansville now starts a three-game showdown with the first place Washington Wild Things tomorrow at Bosse Field. The Otters send co-ace Jeremy Lewis to the mound, trailing the Wild Things by two games. The first 500 kids in the ballpark will receive image balls courtesy of the Evansville Convention and Visitor's Bureau.
