Ozark, MOâ The Springfield/Ozark Ducks defeated the Rockford RiverHawks 6-1 and completed the sweep of the three-game series.
Tanner Townsend started off the bottom of the first inning with a double.
Townsend then scored on Josh Landon's RBI single giving the Ducks the 1-0 lead. Todd Leathers hit a ground ball that scored Landon and Springfield/Ozark led 2-0 after one inning.
The RiverHawks didn't score until the eigth inning when Rico Santana hit a sacrifice fly making the score 6-1.
Luis Villareal (6-3) picked up the win for Springfield/Ozark. Adam Palmer (1-4) gave up only two earned runs over five innings but took the loss for Rockford.
The RiverHawks return to Marinelli Field on Thursday at 7:05 to take on the Gateway Grizzlies. Thursday night will be the return of $1 Beer Night sponsored by Miller Lite. Call (815) 964-2255 for tickets.
