Rookie DL Trotter Joins Barnstormers

DES MOINES - Mike Hohensee, Head Coach and Director of Football Operations for the Iowa Barnstormers, announced yesterday that the team has been assigned Frank Trotter, rookie defensive lineman.

Trotter (6-2, 280, Memphis) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his rookie season after signing with the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League as an undrafted free agent in 2012. Trotter started 36 career games throughout his four-year tenure at Memphis, including 33 consecutive starts. Ranked third all-time in TFL with 36.5, the defensive powerhouse set a career-high 16.5 TFL as a junior (2010). Recognized for his big plays and unselfish attitude, Trotter achieved All-Conference USA honorable mention honors as a senior and junior, and team Defensive Player of the Year honors as a junior.

During Trotter's prep career at John LeFlore High, he saw starting action on both the offensive and defensive lines. Lettering four seasons, Trotter collected career totals of 139 tackles, nine sacks and five fumbles.
