
Rome Gets Sunday Afternoon Win

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the Greenville Drive Sunday afternoon at State Mutual Stadium 4-3 before a crowd of 2,310.
After falling behind in the first inning 1-0, the Braves scored twice in the bottom of the inning on Matt Tellor's two run double to take a 2-1 advantage. Greenville tied the game in the third on a bases loaded walk by Javier Guerra but Rome came back to take the lead in the fifth. Drive shortstop Guerra made a fielding error allowing a run to score and Jordan Edgerton added a sacrifice fly making it a 4-2 game. Greensboro added a run in the ninth but Rome held on for the victory.
Rome starter Sean Furney (7-7) earns the win going seven innings allowing two runs on six hits. Ben Taylor (0-2) takes the loss for Greenville while Sean McLaughlin gets his second save of the season. All four of Rome's runs were unearned.
